I was working on an article about `darkmoon3636 this weekend and she mentioned how her current preference in emotes are chat-friendly sized, static emotes--because they don't obstruct the flow of text. As many of my watchers know, I'm a big static fan myself. I also happened to be working on my art blog this weekend and wanted to get a set of emotes for the comment smileys. Problem is, I couldn't find one that featured "classic-styled" emotes, which is the look I was going for. Also, there were no really nice static ones. So, I decided to create a set myself.
All of these emotes are hand-pixelled. They feature my newest shading. My goal was to create versions of the basic core Wordpress set in a rainbow of colors. I tried not to duplicate the looks of any of the original, but make them uniquely my own. The hardest of the set to do were "crying" and "twisted." My fave of the pack is "Mr. Green" and "Blush". I do intend to animate this set eventually.
While these were created with Wordpress in mind, the file includes 22 individual emotes which can be freely used in chats, forums, etc. The pack includes the required Wordpress files, plus a general Readme file with terms of usage. Note that the files are named according to the default names of the Wordpress smilies, so you can simply upload these into the directory and they will replace the current set and should work fine.
I also did a set of these in larger yellow "smiley" format, but I'll upload that separately in the next few days.
*** As with most of my smileys, you may use this on and off dA, without my permission. The only thing I ask is that you keep the file name in tact and don't remove any credit information. If you do use it for something, it would be nice if you could comment and let me know. It encourages me to make more smileys if I know people are using/enjoying them. ***

The easiest way is to simply pick the ones you want and rename them to the file names of the default smileys. Upload them and they will overwrite/replace the current ones. If you download this deviation, it gives you instructions of where to find the default ones, etc.
If you want interchange them periodically, Smilies Themer is a great plug-in and this pack works with it.
How do we use these on dA?
How do you do it? I'd love to change the ones I have in my Comicpress site!
