This stamp was inspired by two separate incidents recently.
The first was my visiting a page where the artist displayed a sign that warned people NOT to give him criticism. He explained he had gotten too many "critiques" which were nothing more than people ripping him to shred and he was sick of it.
Second, I myself, had a poster who decided to get all over my case because he felt (much of) my art was archaic and pointless. Pixel art should have died back in the 90s, y'know.
I think that unless someone specifically asks for an ass-chewing, that critique should be thoughtful...and gentle. People want to get better. They don't want to be so belittled they never want to create again.
This is in stamp form, but I DO have a PLZ version I'll be uploading very soon, since I know this stamp will do well in the artist notes of deviations. I just need to get the accounts set-up and I'll be linking it up soon.

*** Terms of Usage *** As with most of my pixel work, you may use this on and off deviantART, without my permission. The only thing I ask is that you keep the file name in tact and don't remove any credit information. Also, if you use, let me know as it encourages me to make more free-use art.

I've gotten a few people who don't even give a critique, they just outright insult the idea or part of the drawing...Ive only had one polite, helpful critique on this site so far!
I agree with this. I think if someone gives a critique, it should be gentle and helpful. (There`s a difference between just ripping into someone`s art and actually trying to help them improve.) I got a few critiques when I don`t even want any. (Otherwise, I would say so.) I apologize if it sounds like I`m ranting.
But it should be never harsh.
(Unless the artist demands it)
It's soo true for me.
No, not ranting at all.
