How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Crazy Week(end)

Well, enough has happened I really need to add a weekend entry.

First of all, I am flogging myself because I did not promote the "Winter Contest" over at #BounceEmotes like I promised. So I am asking my fellow emoticonists -- MAKE AN ENTRY. We need to support each other and the emote groups by entering contests. It doesn't have to be much, and I know many of you have already made winter emotes. Submit them to the contest. Srsly. [link]

I managed to get over one major hurdle this week -- a digital doll I've been working on for a month. Hopefully the rest of my to-do list will go quicker. But I'm still busy, and this weekend will be filled with web-stuff. Though I did manage a good chunk of my in-box over the past few days. Let's hope I can stay on top of it.

I got a nice gift from `Synfull recently. You can read her artist notes on the piece, as it says everything better than I could. I do thank Karen for this gesture and hope that 2012 brings some quiet and peace to the emote community.

I'm gonna give a special shout-out to this gift from the lovely =pixiepot Emote fanart of my Relativity series! I'm so geeked. Thank you, dear.

HAPPY WEEKEND, EVERYONE!

OLDER STUFF

Honestly, the last two weeks have been beyond a whirlwind.  All I will say is that I am so busy and simply don't even have time for much of a weekly journal.  I mentioned some of these things yesterday, but on my plate I have a website revamp, several fiction projects, a major push to finally finish all my kiri prizes and gifts, as well as a ton of IRL stuff, including another couple of unexpected curveballs which keep us on our toes.

Again, I have a ton of messages in my in-box and I hope to get through them, but it will be a few at a time.  So, please don't feel bad if I haven't responded.  I will, eventually.  I simply need to focus this week on digging out of the backlog.  I will still be uploading art, but it will be old stuff.  I have quite a few chat emotes I did around the time of NaNoEmo which I never uploaded, so I'll be posting that.  But I'm gonna try to hold off on new stuff until the prizes and gifts are done and until I just get things in order in my regular life.

That will mean a hold on my articles--which I had hoped to start again.  But I do plan to try to get #Emotizine up, if nothing else.

I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated all of the kind words, support, and general love as of late.  It has really helped me through.  Seriously.  Keep me in your thoughts, prayers, vibes, or whatever, that I managed to make a good dent this week and can be back to full form on dA next week.

you're not alone when it has a lot of work in life. i've been working on a drawing since Christmas Day but lacked supplies & motivation to draw. i finally finished drawing it the other night. now all i need to do is paint it & outline it & then touch it up. i hope i can get it all done in one day but i believe we know how that would work lol. good luck with your to-do list! *hug*
