Give Yourself a DD

Inspired by the stamp above, several months ago, I conducted a poll and asked my visitors and watchers to pick a piece in their gallery they would be most proud of to have featured as a Daily Deviation. Below are the deviations picked. Note that several deviants felt their galleries did not have a piece worthy enough of a Daily Deviation. For them, I chose one of my favorites from their submissions.

I had the idea for this News article when I recently went through the Tutorial list of #Emotication.  I normally send deviants to #Emotication when they need help to create Emoticons. Now that I went through the list I noticed that many tutorials aren't helpful at all.  It is "just" a list with very good but also very bad tutorials.
In the first edition of the help corner I want to share tutorials with you that I find helpful. These don't necessarily  reflect my preferences in the emoticon creation process

dA Staff Appreciation Week - Emote dA HQ Project:iconstaffappreciation:

As part deviantART Staff Appreciation Week, `SanguineEpitaph and #StaffAppreciation team have come up with a fun project for deviants.
Ever wonder what it's like at deviantART Headquarters? So do we! And since most of us will never know, we've decided to let our imaginations run wild and create what we think HQ would be like...if it were run by emoticons!
This project is open for anyone who can create an emote or some sort of pixel art. The project challenges you to make piece representing a part of dA HQ. You can create something specific to a real-life member, such as an emoticon of $Moonbeam13, or something abstract like a general emote member of the Help Desk. We're also looking for pixel furniture (think desks, chairs, sofas), art for the walls, and other fun stuff you might imagine in the HQ offices. The #StaffAppreciation team has started things out, adding some rooms and props. It's up to you to help us complete the pic

The Others Feature Again - Part 1Like many deviants, I have an alternate account where I post works which are a bit different than my normal fares. I also use the account to post random features. Sadly, because that account is not very popular, I always fear these wonderful pieces aren't quite getting the exposure they deserve. So, this is the first in a periodic series where I will showcase art featured in my `mirz-alt journals. If you like any of these pieces, be sure to fave it, or better yet comment on the deviation. Emoticon Contest: past vs. present vs. futureI am proud to present you my first "official" Emoticon Contest.

At first I want to tell you something about the theme:
As you have read the theme is past vs. present vs. future, this means your entry has to include something from the past, present and future. The time isn't set, this means that the past could be just 1 day ago or 100 years ago it's the same with the future. For example: you could display how the emotes have lived in the past how they are living now and how they could live in the future.
Be creative and surprise me with your imagination

The Contest is divided into 2 Categories:
The first Category will be for deviants who would like to work alone. And the second category is for deviants who want to work with somebody (a collaboration category ;D) 2 deviants can work together.

Daily Features - Oct + Nov 2011On my profile page, I feature a new deviation every day. The piece is usually something that caught my eye. Could be an amazing digital painting, a fun stamp, a quick photograph that made me smile, perhaps a piece for a weekly theme, whatever. However, it moved me enough to share it with my visitors.
