Positivity = Short Journal

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 16, 2012, 3:09 AM

:hmm: Since I'm feeling down and I promised to stay positive, there's really not a lot I can write.  So, I'll just skip to the features and such.  Have a nice week.

:aww: Volume 2 of #Emotizine is out.  Here are a couple of things that missed the publish deadline...

:happybounce: I pimped out the contest at #BounceEmotes.  There was some snafu with the journals at the Group, so the founder has extended the deadline by one week.  If you were looking to enter, now is the time. Check out the group blog for more details.  In the meantime, I want to thank the emoticonists who hurried to make an entry for the priginal deadline. You guys rock and really show how the emoticon community can come together to support each other.

:eager: ~Oktanas is hosting the next #EmoticonOpus.  Theme is Arrow! Be sure to check it out.

:bulletblue: Someone asked me recently why I acquire and subsequently showcase so much #RelativityComic art.  The reason is that Relativity is a fiction comic serial.  Because of that, we feel it important to heavily tie-in art, so that it gives a feel of a comic book, even though it's primarily lit.  To that end, we commission and request a lot of art.  Anyhow, I'm sorry if I bore everyone with these or seem like a stupid fangirl for my own series, but I really appreciate the art that I get for the series, be it commission, request, or gift, and want to pimp out the artists.

Here's some recent Relativity art that I've received:

 A special "thank-you" to ~EternalxRequiem for the lovely Minnie-in-a-Bottle avi in the header.

Life is full of ups and downs, it's kind of like a teeter-totter. :unimpressed:
I was kinda feeling down and depressed today too, I have a massive migraine, and I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.
Plus there could be a lot of snow and ice on the roads, and that won't be fun either. Bleh.

I hope things look up for you soon! :tighthug:
Oh, and thank you for featuring my doll of Dark Flame. I'm so pleased you like her. :aww:

I think pimping the art is awesome, it is a sign of respect to the artist who made it....so poo on any naysayers. Yes, I said poo on them! :iconanimefaceplz:

:cuddle: I hope things start to look up for you soon. If not, I will be forced to make you something with yarn and mail it to you again.

Well, I feel the same way. But I don't think people sufficiently understand that when we imagined the series nearly 2 years ago, we always planned to either make or commission a lot of art to go along with it. Our original plan was to actually insert the art in the stories, but that actually broke up the flow. So, now they are more companion pieces. But, if someone is not familiar with the series, they don't get it. Also, I think people feel I must be rolling in money 'cuz I get so much art. I am just uber lucky to find some great point commissions and low-price ones. Many of my friends and watcher know I keep an eye out for these things, so I'll have someone Note me, saying, "hey, so-and-so is having free commissions" or "he's doing $2 sketches" and tell me to head over there. :giggle:

As much as I LOVE your yarn, I would feel so guilty getting another gift. So, I will be very content with the lovely thought and gesture. .

You are also lucky in that some of the work is gifted. Just nice gestures, so of course you want to show that off.

True that. I particularly like to pimp those out, because gifts are special. And I love my friends so much who make them.

Also, I request a lot of art from newer artists. I've had many people so excited and happy because they had open requests for months and no one took them up on it. So, I always feel it's silly for people to get upset at me for getting all of this art when a good deal of it was available for anyone, if they asked. And I particularly love featuring those artists, because it is such a huge morale boost for them.
