Volume 15 in the series that showcases a random variety of emoticons: some old, some new, some by seasoned emoticonists, some by new artists. There's no real rhyme or reason as to which pieces are featured. Sometimes I pick a theme such as animals, other times it's just whatever strikes my fancy. Below are the current group of awesome emotes hand-picked by me (and sometimes a guest).
Much like the title, this News feature will publish a bit randomly. Maybe weekly, maybe every third Thursday, maybe three days in a row--but always hopefully at least once a month.

Awesome Emoticonist
Inspired by `ArtByCher's lovely "Random Acts of Kindness" gift, I have taken to honoring some of the outstanding dA emoticonists. Whether the emoticonist is heavily involved in the community, makes exceptional art that inspires other emoticonists, or is simply a kind deviant that helps and supports others, many of these individuals deserve a bit of additional recognition for their efforts. This award will be given out to 1-2 emoticonists a month as a special "thank you" for their work around the emoticon community. The emoticonist will be chosen by me, but may be recommended by other members of the community.

There are few in the emote community who wouldn't agree that ~
Seiorai is one of the most amazing emoticonists dA has ever known. Her unique style of emoticons are gorgeously shaded and very shiny. The detail in her work is unsurpassed and it is no wonder she had gained numerous Daily Deviations for her creations. In addition to being an awesome artist, she is a positive force in the community. Her encouragement of emoticonists, old and new, is commendable. She has also has broadened her participation in the community as becoming a leader in the emoticon teams project for the #
EmoteHunters. Listed by many as one of their all-time favorite deviants, ~
Seiorai is truly an Awesome Emoticonist.

It is widely know that `
Ravenswd is my husband and that he assists me in my emoticon work. However, I do feel his participation in the community is much understated. He is the one who assists me and others in updating community projects, proof-reading articles, coordinate many emoticon groups, as well as assisting with technical issues. He has also foraged out on his own, taking on the role of leader of the #
MonstersMinions team. While his emoticons are not often showcased, his creations are not always perfectly pixelled, but feature humor, fun, and even a bit of education. For all of that, he is definitely an Awesome Emoticonist.

Emoticon News
In honor of NaNoWriMo, and to give the emoticon community a chance to participate in a similar event alongside their author friends, I have started NaNoEmo, an event that challenges emoticonists to make one-emote-a-day through November. Anyone who makes emoticons can join, beginner or veteran. For more info, to participate, or just to watch the fun, check out this journal --->
