A news series featuring art selected by me. There will be a wide range of themes and genres covered. In addition, there will be periodic interviews and artist spotlights.
Daily Features
On my profile page, I feature a new deviation every day (or two or three). The piece is usually something that caught my eye. Could be an amazing digital painting, a fun stamp, a quick photograph that made me smile, perhaps a piece for a weekly theme, whatever. However, it moved me enough to share it with my visitors. Below is a list of the artists which I featured during August 2012. I am showcasing different pieces from their gallery in the hope of showing them a bit more love. If you would like to see the original piece I featured of each of these artists, please visit this folder.

Spotlight Interview
In this series, I hope to introduce the community to some artists who have been around dA for a while, but are still relativity unknown. The interviews are meant to be short and sweet. I encourage you to check out the artist's full gallery and add them to your devWatch.
Hey everyone! I've seen myself referred to as Thresh here on deviantArt, so I guess I'll go with that. I'm a hobbyist and originally joined this site to participate in its fandom communities as well as to get feedback on my art. I still very much enjoy these aspects of dA but have also branched out into commission work. Depicting the original characters of fellow deviants is currently a large portion of what I post here.
I've always had an enthusiasm for traditional drawing, especially pencil and ink. It was only when I joined dA earlier this year that I really started to explore digital painting. This seems to have taken over as my main art form, at least for now. Pencil drawing is currently my secondary art form. My overall focus, regardless of medium, is portraiture.
Although I've been drawing since before I can remember, I didn't take any art classes in college and didn't have much time for it. After I finished school and had a little more spare time, I started drawing again. The learning experiences and encouragement that I've received since joining dA currently has me working on my art harder than ever before.
My overall favorite is probably a painting of my cat, Andy. But if I may, I'd also like to mention a painting that I did of Indiana Jones, which is my favorite fan art deviation in my gallery.

As someone who finds characters and storytelling incredibly inspiring, I have no problem saying that I love creating fan art. I can always tell if I've enjoyed a movie (or book, comic, tv episode, etc.) when the first thing I want to do after it's over is draw something from it.
Choosing just one is difficult. I know it's a cliché response, but I think I'll go with The Matrix. It's a movie that absolutely blew my mind the first time I saw it and has since played a significant role in shaping my tastes and aesthetic in many aspects of my life, including the art that I create. (It's also the movie that I'll watch when I'm sick. The lobby scene always puts a big, goofy grin on my face.)
~s3lwyn This artist has a gallery full of amazing digital paintings with an emphasis on fan art. Her style beautifully combines realism with a unique softness that gives her work a really cool, ethereal quality.
~Exotizc If you like photorealism and/or animals, definitely check this artist out. Her attention to detail and dramatic use of light in her digital paintings are stunning.
*AEmiliusResurrection This artist creates awesome 3D renders and animations. What he's forgotten about lighting effects is probably more than most people will ever learn in the first place.

Thank you! This was fun and surprisingly challenging.

Themed Feature
With the close of my contest just a few days away, I've been in a superhero mood (more than usual, that is). So, inspired by that, here are some pieces from the dA gallery using the keyword "superhero."

Special Feature
November is quickly approaching. For writers, that means the start of NaNoWriMo. For emoticonists, it means the start of NaNoEmo. What is that, you ask? You can find out here. So, in anticipation and to celebrate, here is a collection of awesome emotes which have been submitted to the emoticon gallery over the past few months.
