Your work is nice. I think the major issue with not commissioning may be that most people want a ballpark. I know I wouldn't mind paying $15 for a piece (which you probably could do in 2 hours)--but when faced with an uncertain hourly rate, I don't want to risk having a simple piece end up costing $45. Personally, I find the $5-10 price range appealing to me, but totally respect when artists charge more. That's just looking at my POV. I only commission works of my original characters.

That said, I firmly believe each commissioner has a right to charge how they want and hope you get a few bites possibly from this.
